As the History Society of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, we visited Amasra and Safranbolu with approximately 100 participants and two buses. Our goal was to reinforce the historical knowledge of our students and provide them with the opportunity to explore cultural heritage on-site.
We first visited Amasra, where we observed traces of the Ottoman and Byzantine eras. Discussions about Amasra Castle and the harbor helped us understand the region's military and commercial past.
Next, we moved on to Safranbolu, where we examined beautiful examples of Ottoman civil architecture. Our tour of the mansions, bazaars, and mosques offered students valuable insights into the daily life of the period.
Throughout the trip, our students gained significant experience both academically and socially. We observed that such activities not only enrich historical knowledge but also strengthen the sense of community.
