DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY GRADUATE EDUCATION PROGRAM

Our graduate education program, which consists of master's and doctoral stages, aims to enable students to acquire the basic equipment required by the general scientific and academic discipline as well as the history discipline, to select and limit scientific research topics and to provide students with the necessary skills to present the determined subject in accordance with scientific criteria. It is aimed to ensure that the academic studies to be carried out follow international studies by showing their historical and current connections.

In addition, our program provides training for researchers who aim to conduct academic studies to specialize in certain subjects concerning various phases of Turkish, World and Civilization history. Master's Program Students who meet the conditions in the relevant sections of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University's graduate education regulations and have at least a bachelor's degree can enroll in the master's program. The normal duration of the program is 4 semesters, the maximum study duration is 6 semesters. In order for students to successfully complete the Master's program; Must successfully complete eight elective courses, one SBE 500 Coded Seminar course and SBE 1000 Coded Scientific Research Methods and Science Ethics courses within a maximum of 4 semesters. The student who completes the course load in question is obliged to prepare and successfully defend a Master's Thesis within the framework of the Specialized Topics course. Students coming to our department from outside the field are required to take four courses from our department's undergraduate program under the name of Scientific Preparation. Among these courses, History Methodology and Ottoman Turkish are compulsory, and the other two courses are optional according to the field the student wants to study. The student who is successful in these courses can continue his education in the Master's Program.
