1.History, language, and geographical awareness are among the most essential elements that sustain a nation. It is a well-known fact that nations lacking this awareness cannot maintain their existence. As one of the most important branches of the social sciences, the discipline of history aims to build the future by drawing on the past through an objective, document-based perspective that subjects available sources to critical analysis.                       

                                                                                                                                 

2. To provide the scientific and academic environment necessary for educating a new generation of researchers by training historians who are well versed in the fundamental approaches of historical scholarship; possess theoretical and practical knowledge; are competent in designing and conducting scientific research; have strong critical thinking skills; are aware of their responsibilities to themselves, their surroundings, and the society in which they live; and adhere to professional and scientific ethical principles. 

         

3. It is aimed to teach our students core knowledge from Ancient History through the history of the Republic, and to equip them with a source language and a Western language in order to examine historical documents and conduct archival research.       

                       

4. The program aims to educate individuals who will serve as academic staff, researchers, instructors of Ottoman Turkish and the History of the Turkish Revolution, archival specialists, and history teachers; who have a solid command of historical methodology; know at least one source language and one Western language; approach history objectively and without prejudice; are capable of conducting comparative historical research; and think scientifically and critically.
