The "National Holidays from the Ottoman Empire to the Republic Photography Exhibition," organized by our department's faculty members, Asst. Prof. Dr. Yaşar Baytal, Research Assistant Dr. Tekin Önal, Research Assistant Naime Yüksel Kayaçağlayan, and Research Assistant Hamit Karasu, was opened to visitors on 30-31 October 2017. The exhibition, which saw strong participation from our university's faculty members and students, was based almost entirely on archival documents. The opening ceremony was attended by our Rector, Prof. Dr. Metin Doğan, as well as Prof. Dr. Derya Örs, the President of the Atatürk Supreme Council for Culture, Language and History (AYK), and Prof. Dr. Yasin Aktay, a former faculty member of our university, Member of Parliament for Siirt, and General Vice President of the AK Party.
