Purpose of the Program:

With the Geriatric (old age) Care Technician Program; In the world and in our country, the development of medicine and technology has enabled individuals to become more conscious about health and their life expectancy is prolonged. As in many countries, there is an increase in the elderly population as well as the young population in our country. The increasing elderly population also reveals many problems that need to be solved.

Gradually, the deterioration of the traditional structure, the return to the nuclear family, brings up the problem of being alone for the elderly. The physiological and psychological changes brought about by aging and the difficulty of staying with the elderly family increase their care needs. The prolongation of life span and the increase in the care needs of the elderly create a need for professional intermediate staff to carry out care services in practice.
