On the occasion of the 564th anniversary of the conquest of Istanbul, Asst. Prof. Dr. M. Akif FİDAN, a faculty member of the Department of History at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, has organized the “Payitaht Istanbul 1” exhibition.
The exhibition will open on 25 May 2017 at 10:00 on the 3rd floor of Block A at the Esenboğa Campus and will remain open for two days. The exhibition aims to ensure the understanding of the significance of the Conquest of Istanbul, which holds an important place in our history, and to transmit this heritage to future generations.
In addition to many historic photographs of Istanbul from the valuable II. Abdülhamid Yıldız Archive collection, the exhibition also features the conquest sketch, conquest maps, and a brief narrative of the conquest of Istanbul.
All students, academic and administrative staff of our university are invited to the exhibition.
