Students from our department took a technical tour of the Ortadoğu Rulman Sanayi (ORS) facilities on Wednesday, November 26th, as part of their Manufacturing Technologies course. The program began with a presentation in the factory's conference hall. This presentation covered the technical details of bearings, their production principles, and ORS's development story from its founding to the present day.
Following the presentation, students toured the production site accompanied by expert engineers and had the opportunity to observe all manufacturing processes firsthand. They observed in detail the raw material preparation, machining, grinding, assembly, and quality control departments, as well as storage areas and heat treatment processes. This gave them the opportunity to see every stage of a bearing's production line from beginning to end.
During the tour, students closely observed the technologies and automation systems used on the production line, reinforcing their theoretical knowledge in a real-world production environment. The technical visit was highly productive for the students, who gained comprehensive insights into the industry through the questions they posed to the experts.
