Industrial Engineering is a branch of engineering that deals with the management of the establishment and continuity of integrated systems consisting of human, material, machine, energy and information. In their work, industrial engineers, who combine special knowledge and skills in mathematics, science and social sciences with engineering analysis and design principle methods, identify and evaluate the results obtained from these systems, and adopt an interdisciplinary approach, use resources such as time, money, materials and energy efficiently and It works to increase the quality of engineering services. Industrial Engineers play a huge role in terms of time, efficiency, cost, quality and energy savings, especially in the light of the concepts defined as Industry 4.0, where production and digitalization reach their peak.
In parallel with the development in the service and production sectors, there is a need for expert staff and academicians trained in the field of industrial engineering in our country. It is necessary to open a doctorate program in order to carry out academic studies and scientific projects in our department, which was established for this purpose, and to gain sufficient lecturers. The aim of this program is; To provide students with master's degree from related departments of universities with doctorate education and gain them knowledge, skills and competence in their field.
Students who will study for a PhD in Industrial Engineering;
- Be able to do different studies on the design of production / production lines and production / manufacturing processes
- Be able to perform optimization studies in various fields with mathematical methods
- Be able to make arrangements by evaluating the mental, cognitive and physical conditions of people in the working areas within the framework of ergonomics, taking into account the human factor,
- Be able to follow the quality processes in detail,
- Gain the ability to identify and solve scientific problems,
- Have the knowledge and equipment to keep up with the rapid changes in the industry,
- Be able to analyze the data and material flow and workforce distribution within that system and redesign the system with optimization methods in order to increase the performance of a system,
- Be able to solve the problems they encounter with their advanced communication and leadership skills,
- Be able to take authority and responsibility in group work, and take initiative when necessary
- Be able to grasp the scientific research process easily, have an advanced level of awareness about the latest research topics,
- Be able to gain special knowledge and equipment from subfields of Industrial Engineering,
- Be able to prepare projects that will be beneficial to our country's competitive power in the international arena,
- Publishing his contributions to science and industry in the form of thesis, article and book,
- To train engineers who can evaluate all processes in detail in terms of economy and finance and produce added value.
