The academic article titled "Opportunities and Anxieties of Homecoming: The Role of Education in Syrian Refugees' Return Decisions," co-authored by our Head of the Sociology Department, Prof. Dr. Zafer Çelik, and Dr. Müberra Nur Emin, has been published in the Winter 2026 issue of Insight Turkey.
This significant study utilizes qualitative research methods to explore how Syrian high school students and their parents residing in Türkiye shape their future and return (homecoming) imaginaries through education.
