Erol GÜNGÖR, one of the important intellectuals raised in Turkey, was commemorated in the 40th anniversary of his death in a program organized by our department and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University Sociology Department. Our Vice Rector and faculty member of our department Prof. Dr. Mustafa ORÇAN made an opening speech at the ceremony held at AHBVÜ TOKİ Campus Turkuaz Hall. In his speech, ORÇAN emphasized that Erol GÜNGÖR was an intellectual personality as well as a scientist. In the program, AHBVU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Kürşat GÖKTÜRK also made an opening and greeting speech.
After the opening speeches, Prof. Dr. Yasin AKTAY, Dr. Murat YILMAZ, Prof. Dr. Erdal AKSOYY and Dr. Neslihan AKBULUT made their speeches in the session moderated by our Head of Department Prof. Dr. Ramazan YELKEN. The speakers made their speeches on Erol Güngör and his contributions to Turkish thought life. The program ended with the presentation of participation certificates to the contributing academicians.
