What is PUM and what research opportunities does our department offer?

AYBU Psychology Practice and Research Center (PUM) has been providing opportunities for faculty members and students wishing to conduct scientific research in the field of psychology through its internal scientific research laboratories since its establishment. In this context, the AYBU Family and Couple Relationship Research Laboratory, AYBU Social Cognitive Laboratory (SobiLab), AYBU Social Psychology and Intergroup Relations Laboratory (SPIReLab), and AYBU Lifespan Development Laboratory are active within our department.

AYBU Psychology Practice and Research Center (PUM) was established in April 2017 under the coordination of Asst. Prof. Gulten Unal and with the contributions of department faculty members. The center provides the necessary hardware and software for faculty members and students to conduct scientific studies in the field of psychology in accordance with international standards. In this context, research tools such as eye-tracking hardware and software (Tobii Eye Tracker), experiment design software (E-prime), facial expression analysis software (Face Reader), and galvanic skin response sensor (GSR) have been made available for the center's use.

PUM aims to enable the use of multi-methods for examining physiological and implicit processes, in addition to self-report, observation, and interview methods. Within this framework, laboratories specialized in different fields operate within the center:
