Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University (AYBU) Department of Psychology started its undergraduate education in the 2012-2013 academic year and has been providing education at our Esenboga Central Campus since 2015-2016. Our department offers 100% English education.

Our department, which attaches importance to an interdisciplinary approach, supports our students in doing a minor in different departments. In addition, graduate education opportunities are offered through our Psychology Master's, Psychology PhD, and Clinical Psychology Master's programs.

Our department consists of 12 faculty members, 2 lecturers, and 13 research assistants who are experts in the fields of Clinical Psychology, Social Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Applied Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology, and Traffic Psychology.

Preparatory Education

The medium of instruction for our Psychology Undergraduate Program is 100% English. Students who do not pass the English proficiency exam receive one year of preparatory education at the School of Foreign Languages located at the Etlik Campus. Preparatory education enables our students to develop the reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills they will need in academic life.

Transportation

Our Esenboga Central Campus is located in a position that can be easily reached by public transportation from the city center. Transportation is provided by regular bus lines (474 and 486) from different parts of Ankara.

Dormitory/Accommodation Facilities

There are Esenboga KYK dormitories located within our university campus and private dormitory facilities in nearby areas around the campus. In addition, there are affordable rental apartment options in the Dumlupinar and Esenboga neighborhoods near the school, as well as in the Cubuk and Pursaklar districts.

Our Events

Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Department of Psychology carried out the conference series titled "Psychology Meetings-I" in 2013 and the meeting series titled "Psychology Meetings-II/ Experience Transfer" in 2015 to bring together expert researcher and practitioner psychologists with students. In 2016, the scope of the "Experience Creation and Transfer" meetings was expanded and a national congress titled "AYBU Psychology Congress: Experience Creation and Transfer-III" was held to reach more people interested in psychology. The congress held between April 25-27, 2018 at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Etlik East Campus focused on the main theme of "Building Bridges". Our latest congress is the VI. National Psychology Graduate Students Congress, organized by the Turkish Psychological Association and hosted by the Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University Department of Psychology between June 7-9, 2024, which addressed the theme of "Broken Patterns, Changing Questions, New Approaches".

In addition, the AYBU Psychology Club, actively run by our department students, contributes to both the academic and social development of our students by organizing seminars, talks, workshops, and social events.

Accreditation

AYBU Psychology Undergraduate Program (English) received full accreditation for 5 years by the Turkish Psychological Association (TPD) in 2024. This certificate has been awarded to only 20 psychology undergraduate programs in our country and officially registers the quality standards of our department in higher education.
