TPA full accreditation — 5 years (2024)

With a strong emphasis on interdisciplinary approaches, the department supports students in pursuing minor programs in other departments. Graduate education opportunities are also available through the MA in Psychology, PhD in Psychology, and MA in Clinical Psychology programs.

Preparatory education

The medium of instruction for the undergraduate program is 100% English. Students who do not pass the English proficiency exam attend a one-year preparatory program at the School of Foreign Languages at the Etlik Campus. The program develops the academic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills students will need throughout their studies.

Opportunities for students

  • Erasmus+ Exchange Programme — study and internship opportunities abroad
  • Participation in Farabi and Mevlana student exchange programs
  • Active involvement in research laboratories
  • Hands-on experience through internship opportunities
  • Entering the academic world through scientific events and conferences

Getting here

The Esenboğa Central Campus is easily accessible from the city centre by public transport. Regular bus services from different districts of Ankara operate on routes 474 and 486.

Accommodation

Esenboğa KYK student dormitories are located within the university campus, and private dormitory options are available in the surrounding area. Affordable rental apartments can also be found in the nearby Dumlupınar and Esenboğa neighbourhoods, as well as in the Çubuk and Pursaklar districts.

Events

Since 2013, the department has been bringing expert researchers and practicing psychologists together with students through the Psychology Meetings conference series. Expanded into a national congress format in 2016, the series most recently took place on 7–9 June 2024, hosted by the Turkish Psychological Association, under the theme "Broken Assumptions, Changing Questions, New Approaches" as the VI. National Congress of Graduate Students in Psychology.

The AYBU Psychology Club, actively run by students, organises seminars, talks, workshops, and social events that contribute to both the academic and personal development of our students.

Accreditation

The AYBU Psychology Undergraduate Program (English-medium) was granted full accreditation for 5 years by the Turkish Psychological Association (TPA) in 2024. This certificate, awarded to only 20 psychology undergraduate programs in Turkey, officially recognises the program's compliance with higher education quality standards.
