The educational objective of the Psychology (English) Undergraduate Program carried out within the AYBU Department of Psychology is to train psychologists who possess theoretical and practical knowledge about the basic approaches, theories, and different fields of the science of psychology. Therefore, it is among the educational objectives to train psychologists who command the principles of psychological assessment, are competent in designing and conducting scientific research in different sub-fields of psychology, and in reporting and interpreting the data and results obtained from these researches. In addition, the aim of the AYBU Department of Psychology is to provide the scientific and academic environment necessary to train practitioner and/or academic psychologists who possess knowledge and skills regarding measurement and evaluation tools used in various application areas of psychology, possess critical thinking skills, are aware of their responsibilities towards themselves, their environment, and the society they live in, adhere to professional and scientific ethical principles, and follow current developments in the field of psychology. Furthermore, it is among the educational objectives to train psychologists who effectively use the digital technologies required to facilitate easy access to resources in the field of psychology, rich learning experiences, digital document management, data analysis, effective communication, collaboration, and to develop their lifelong learning capabilities.

In our country, psychology undergraduate program graduates have employment opportunities in state institutions, the private sector, and as independent practitioners. The AYBU Psychology (English) Undergraduate Program aims to train its graduates as well-equipped and open-to-learning psychologists who can take part in psychological assessment and interventions in the public sector; in the health sector (hospitals, community mental health centers, etc.), within the Ministry of Justice in courts, detention centers, and correctional facilities, within the Ministry of Family and Social Services in institutions established for the physically and mentally disabled, nursing homes, and in projects and units aiming to develop and implement social policies, within the Ministry of National Education in guidance and research centers and as teachers upon completion of the necessary pedagogical formation training, within the General Directorate of Security and various military institutions, by using their observation and interviewing skills and measurement-evaluation knowledge. The program aims to provide the basic psychology education that will enable its graduates to work in the private sector; in psychotechnical assessment centers, private psychotherapy and mental health centers, daycares, special education and rehabilitation centers, private schools, human resources and public relations departments, advertising, marketing, and research centers, by completing the necessary additional trainings and conditions. In addition, the AYBU Psychology (English) Undergraduate Program aims to train its graduates as researcher, innovative, and public-interest-oriented psychologists who can take part in non-governmental organizations serving at national and international levels and in projects developed in the field of civil society.
