Graduation Work — PSY 401
Within the scope of this course taken in the fall semester of the 4th year, students complete their undergraduate education by choosing one of the three sub-fields below. Click on the relevant tab to see the steps and required documents for each sub-field.
Before starting the internship — step-by-step process
This is a mandatory training organized by the department in the spring semester of every academic year, where the scope and details of the graduation project are conveyed. Other steps cannot be taken without completing this training.
The Turkish Psychological Association Ethics Code must be read before starting the internship.
Finding an internship placement is entirely the student's responsibility. There must be at least one psychologist at the institution. In mandatory cases, a psychiatrist, school counselor, or social worker may also be accepted. Applications can also be made within the scope of the National Internship Program (Career Gate).
A verbal or written notification that the application has been accepted is sufficient. No concrete document is required at this stage. If there is no psychologist at the institution but a different specialist, consult the internship coordinator.
Two documents are filled out on the computer, signed and sealed by the institution first, and then brought to the department.
Documents signed by the institution are submitted to the department internship coordinator and also signed by the department. Then, one copy is sent to the internship institution.
The following documents must be submitted completely on the date announced by the department (June 2026 for individual internships). Documents are not accepted before or after this date.
During the internship
A diary is kept during the internship. The diary includes cases, tests, observations, and acquired information. There is no specific format; it is recommended to be typed on a computer. It can be written in Turkish or English, there is no page limit.
After the internship — fall semester submission
The internship institution fills out the following two documents and submits them to the department in a sealed envelope in the next fall semester.
Information and experiences gained during the internship are converted into an Internship Report in academic format in English. The internship diary will also be included in the report. Training on writing the report will be given at the beginning of the fall semester.

About the scientific article sub-field
Students who want to write an article submit the advisor appointment form along with the sub-field selection form. You choose the faculty member you want to work with and get their approval. A group of up to 2 people can be formed; however, each student writes and submits their own article separately.
Training on writing the article will be given at the beginning of the fall semester. The completed article is submitted in the fall semester along with the following documents.
Before starting the process
The training provided by the department is taken. After the training, the Turkish Psychological Association Ethics Code is read, signed, and submitted to the relevant coordinator.
The institution where the voluntary community service will be held is found by the student, and the institution's approval is obtained. In some special cases, the institution may be suggested by the department or the advisor. Institution suitability approval must also be obtained.
The Voluntary Community Service Works Protocol is submitted to the institution, signed by the organization, and then submitted to the department coordinator. The department sends a copy of the approved protocol to the institution; one copy remains in the department.
The Attendance Form and Performance Evaluation Form are downloaded from the department website and submitted to the institution official in a sealed envelope. These forms will be filled out by the institution at the end of the work.
During the work
Observations and activities carried out within the scope of the work are kept in a handwritten summary Workbook/Diary. You should be aware that you represent the university and the department, and avoid behaviors contrary to the TPA Ethics Code.
After the work
When the work is completed, the following documents are collected and submitted to the coordinators.
