Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Frequently Asked Questions and Answers About Compulsory Internships
Question #1: Is there a deadline for compulsory internship applications?
Answer: No. However, the student must take into account time-consuming processes such as signing the requested documents and sending them to the student by e-mail, and submitting the documents to be signed by the student and the company representative 1 week in advance in order for the insurance (SGK premiums) entries to be made on time by the department secretariat. In addition, academic and administrative staff being on leave during the summer period may cause the processes to take longer. The student should apply for internship as early as possible, taking into account these and similar situations.
Question #2: Can the compulsory internship period coincide with final and/or make-up exam weeks?
Answer: No. Compulsory internships must be done on dates outside the academic calendar. Therefore, internships cannot be done on the dates when midterm or final exams are being held. Also, students who have taken the make-up exam can start their internship after the make-up exam(s) they took.
Question #3: Can the compulsory internship period coincide with summer school?

Students in this situation must prepare a separate internship file for both internships.
Question #6: The company where I will be doing my internship also works on Saturdays. Can the work I do on Saturdays count towards the minimum 20 working days I need to return to work for my internship to be accepted?
