The Turkey Hydrogen Summit 2026, organized under the leadership of academics from the Mechanical Engineering Department and the Hydrogen Technologies and Energy Application and Research Center (H2TEAM) at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (AYBÜ), was held on October 22-23, 2026, in the Conference Hall of the AYBÜ Etlik East Campus.
The summit, which brought together representatives from universities, industry, and the public sector, comprehensively addressed topics such as sustainable energy transformation, clean hydrogen production, fuel cell technologies, energy storage, hydrogen use in industry, and the commercialization of innovative energy technologies.
During the two-day event, scientific developments, innovative engineering solutions, and industrial applications in the field of hydrogen technologies were evaluated through 5 panels, 2 invited speakers (keynotes), 55 poster presentations, and 28 booth participations. Information and experience sharing was facilitated among public institutions, universities, research centers, and private sector representatives, creating new collaboration opportunities for the development of sustainable energy technologies. The summit particularly highlighted topics such as hydrogen production from renewable energy sources, the integration of hydrogen into energy systems, decarbonization of industry, and the development of domestic hydrogen technologies. In this respect, the event served as an important scientific and sectoral gathering contributing to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, which include access to clean energy, innovation in industry, combating climate change, and strengthening multi-stakeholder collaborations. Students from the AYBÜ Mechanical Engineering Department also participated in the summit, gaining the opportunity to closely follow current developments in hydrogen and sustainable energy technologies, interact with academics and industry representatives, examine innovative technologies, and develop their professional networks. Student participation in scientific and sectoral events was also crucial in supporting quality engineering education and increasing awareness in the field of sustainable technologies. As the AYBÜ Mechanical Engineering Department, we will continue to share our scientific knowledge with industry and society, support the development of sustainable energy technologies, and actively participate in activities that contribute to the academic, technical, and professional development of our students. We thank all the academics, public and private sector representatives, researchers, and students who participated in the event for their contributions to the realization of the summit.
