Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Department of Mechanical Engineering will begin using Siemens NX and Tecnomatix software for educational and research activities under an academic license during the 2026–2027 academic year.
With Siemens NX, computer-aided design, engineering analysis, and manufacturing processes; with Tecnomatix, digital manufacturing, production planning, and simulation applications are intended to be integrated into the educational processes. Through this infrastructure, it is aimed to develop our students’ competencies in modeling, analyzing, and optimizing design and manufacturing processes in a digital environment.
The use of digital engineering tools in education also offers significant opportunities in terms of reducing the need for physical prototyping, planning design and manufacturing processes more efficiently, optimizing resource utilization, and incorporating sustainable manufacturing approaches into engineering education.
By bringing these technologies, which are widely used in industry, together with our students, it is aimed to strengthen high-quality engineering education and equip our students with the knowledge and skills required in the fields of digital transformation and sustainable manufacturing. The opinions and contributions of our external stakeholders also contribute to improving the alignment of our educational programs with industry needs.
We would like to thank Boğaziçi Yazılım for their support throughout the process of bringing these academic licenses to our university.
