Internship Guidelines and Application Process
In addition to the Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Undergraduate Internship Directive, the following prerequisites are required for the students of the Metallurgical and Materials Engineering Department to be eligible for an internship:
- Having taken the MSE201 course (Taking the course is sufficient; passing is not required).
- Having successfully completed courses equivalent to at least 60 ECTS as of the semester before the internship starts (based on transcripts at the end of the Fall semester).
- Having completed at least 3 semesters in the department (excluding English preparatory class) by the internship start date.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: It is mandatory that the company where the internship will be held employs at least one Metallurgical and Materials Engineer. The internship places found by the students must be approved by the Internship Committee. Internships completed in unsuitable companies will be considered invalid.
Internship Process Steps

Finding a suitable internship place that employs at least one Metallurgical and Materials Engineering graduate.

Filling out the 'Compulsory Internship Form' and having it signed first by the Internship Committee and then by the company (2 copies). (An e-devlet transcript is mandatory to be submitted while having this form signed by the department.)

Completely filling out the relevant sections in the 'General Health Insurance (GSS) Declaration and Commitment' document.

Submitting the above documents (Items 2 and 3) to the Internship Committee.

Obtaining the Insurance Entry Document via e-Devlet 1 business day before the internship starts (in the afternoon) and delivering it to the company.

Filling out the Internship Logbook during the internship and having each page signed, preferably by a Metallurgical and Materials Engineer.

ATTENTION: It is MANDATORY that the relevant engineer's diploma number, signature, and stamp are included on the cover page of the logbook.

Having the Internship Evaluation Form signed by the relevant engineer and receiving it in a sealed envelope.

Submitting the Internship Logbook and the Evaluation Form in the sealed envelope to the Internship Committee by the date announced at the beginning of the semester.
