Our country witnessed devastating Kahramanmaraş earthquakes on 6 February 2023. As a result, 11 cities directly affected by the earthquake and more than 50 thousand citizens lost their lives. The collapsed buildings necessitated the evaluation of deaths and injuries caused by the building structures in the context of the criminal law. It is important to conduct a separate inquiry regarding the timing of the conduct of the crime, act, the scope of responsibility, and subjective elements. In this context, the effects of criminal law regarding the previous earthquakes of Gölcük, Van and Elazığ will be scrutinized and evaluated in terms of the doctrine and practice.
