Question 1: I am a first-year student. How can I apply for course exemptions for the associate's/bachelor's courses I have completed and passed previously?

Answer:
Students who have gained the right to register through the central exams conducted by ÖSYM and have successfully completed courses in a higher education program they previously attended may apply for exemptions. To apply for course exemptions for the relevant courses from previous institutions or distance education programs, students must submit a petition including the official transcript and certified course descriptions to the Dean's Office/Department. The application should be submitted no later than the last week of the first semester or the first week of the year.

Question 2: I am a second-year student. Do I have to take the courses I have failed in previous semesters?

Answer:
Starting from the third semester, students who need to retake courses or laboratory, project, and similar activities that belong to previous semesters must prioritize retaking the failed courses. If the retaken courses conflict with courses from the current semester in terms of their schedule, they can start taking courses from lower semester programs.

Question 3: How many ECTS credits do I need to graduate?

Answer:
For associate's degree programs, a total of 120 ECTS credits must be completed, and for bachelor’s degree programs, a total of 240 ECTS credits must be earned, with 30 ECTS credits per semester.

Question 4: What should I do if a course I failed last year has been removed from the program this year?

Answer:
Students who have failed a course, but the course has been removed from the program, must take a substitute course approved by their department, which has an equal credit value.

Question 5: Can I get information about the attendance requirements for my courses?

Answer:
For theoretical courses that are taken for the first time or retaken due to absenteeism, students must attend at least 30% of the classes. For applications, laboratory sessions, and similar activities, the attendance requirement is at least 20%. Students who do not meet the attendance requirements may be considered failed. The list of students who do not meet the attendance criteria and are not eligible to take the exam will be announced by the instructor before the semester/year-end exams. Students who fail for reasons other than absenteeism in a retaken course are not required to attend the theoretical parts of the course.
