Frequently Asked Questions
I am a first-year student. How can I apply for course exemption for courses I previously passed?
Students who gained admission again through the central exams conducted by ÖSYM may request exemption from courses they successfully completed in a previous higher education program.
Students must submit a petition listing the courses for which they request exemption together with the original approved transcript to the faculty or institute administration.
Applications must be submitted by the end of the first week of the semester in which the student registers for courses.
I am a second-year student. Do I have to take the courses that I previously failed?
Starting from the third semester, students who need to repeat courses from previous semesters must first register for those courses.
If the repeated courses conflict with the weekly schedule, the student may take courses from the current semester starting from the lowest semester courses.
How many ECTS credits are required to graduate?
Students must complete 120 ECTS credits in associate degree programs and 240 ECTS credits in undergraduate programs.
Each semester normally corresponds to 30 ECTS credits.
A course I failed last year has been removed from the curriculum. What should I do?
Students must take another course approved by their department that is equivalent in credit to replace the removed course.
What are the attendance requirements?
Students who miss more than 30% of theoretical courses or more than 20% of practical, laboratory, or similar sessions are considered unsuccessful due to absenteeism.
Attendance is monitored by the course instructor.
