Kite Design Festival Held at AYBU Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts

The “Kite Design Festival” organized by the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University was held on May 8, 2025, at the Esenboğa Campus and featured colorful and joyful moments. The event was organized under the leadership of Prof. Dr. İhsan Toktaş, Dean of the Faculty, and Dr. Taner Aşçı, Vice Dean, and was met with interest by students.

Aiming to foster creativity, the event offered participants the opportunity to engage with the design process in an enjoyable and interactive way. As part of the event, students competed in a kite design competition, presenting their original and creative kite designs.

In addition to showcasing their work, participants enjoyed the experience of flying their kites. The colorful kites soaring through the wind created a delightful visual spectacle for the audience.

The kite designs were evaluated by the academic staff and research assistants of the Department of Industrial Design based on criteria such as aesthetics, functionality, and creativity. As a result of the evaluations, Muhammet Furkan Acar from the Department of Industrial Design was awarded first place, followed by Nisa Savaş in second place and Ömür Mehlika Oğan in third place.

At the end of the event, the winning students were presented with medals and certificates of appreciation.
