Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Turkish Language and Literature and Kashgarlı Mahmut Thought Community jointly organized "Two Sycamores of Turkology: Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bican Ercilasun and Prof. Dr. Bilge Ercilasun Conference" event was held on Monday, May 20 at 13.00 in Block C Conference Hall. The conference program started with a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Mustafa Erdoğan, Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature. Then the speeches of Prof. Ercilasun started. First, Prof. Dr. Bilge Ercilasun made his speech titled "Atatürk in the Novels of the Republican Era". Then Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bican Ercilasun took the floor and made a speech titled "A General Overview of the History of Turkish Language".
After the speeches, the program continued with the question and answer section; The program ended with the presentation of plaques, gifts, flowers to our professors and the collective photo shoot of our professors and our students. It was seen that the professors and students of the department showed great participation and interest in the conference. After the program, our students had the chance to chat with Prof. Dr. Bilge Ercilasun and Prof. Dr. Ahmet Ercilasun, who have important studies and books in the field of Turkology, to have their books signed.
