We held an orientation and welcome meeting to help students newly enrolled in our department adjust to university life.

Department Chair Prof. Dr. Ayşe DEMİR, who delivered the opening remarks, provided information about the department’s history and academic structure. Noting that the department, founded in 2011 and which graduated its first class in 2016, has produced over 500 graduates to date, Prof. Dr. Demir stated that a total of 25 faculty members are currently serving in the department.

During the program, faculty members from the sub-disciplines of Old Turkish Literature, Old Turkish Language, Modern Turkish Literature, Turkish Folk Literature, and Modern Turkish Language introduced themselves and shared information about their areas of expertise. While the faculty members offered advice to students on course selection, academic research methods, and career planning, First-Year Advisor Dr. Nurseli Gamze Korkmaz presented on Double Major and Minor Programs. Our alumnus Barkın Burak Bingöl shared his experiences regarding the process of becoming a research assistant.

The meeting concluded with informal conversations accompanied by refreshments.
