The Non-Thesis Master's Program in Economics, located in the heart of Ankara, aims to train economists and practitioners who can combine theory and practice and are competitive both globally and locally.
Program faculty members conduct intensive research activities and also provide consultancy services to private and public sector institutions. Thus, they provide students with a solid theoretical foundation while simultaneously sharing their practical experience.
Economics examines the production and consumption-oriented decisions of individuals, firms, and governments. In doing so, it assumes that the average individual is generally rational, developing testable propositions and, based on these propositions, positively examining the effects of various decisions, strategies, and policies on social welfare. The science of economics examines theories and models developed in areas such as market structures and operations, unemployment, money supply, and taxation using tools such as game theory and econometrics. Graduates of the Non-Thesis Master's Program in Economics gain the competence to develop economic policy by evaluating these analyses.
The program's faculty members specialize in Monetary Economics, Industrial Organization, Energy Economics, Health Economics, International Trade, and Development Economics.
Students take core theory courses in Microeconomics and Macroeconomics, and complete the coursework phase by taking elective courses.
After completing the coursework, they graduate by completing their projects under the supervision of department faculty members.
