Our department's doctoral program aims for research-oriented education. Graduates of this program are expected to be able to comprehensively analyze social and economic events using the tools of economics. To this end, both institutional and applied fields are emphasized.

The Economics Department's doctoral program was established under the Institute of Social Sciences at the end of 2010, following the university's founding. Coursework officially began in the 2011-2012 academic year.

The doctoral program consists of at least seven courses, seminars, other learning activities (articles, conferences, presentations, etc.) determined by the proposal of the relevant institute's department and the decision of the institute's board of directors, a qualifying examination, a thesis proposal, and thesis work, totaling at least 240 ECTS credits, for students admitted with a thesis-based master's degree.

Graduates of the doctoral program can find employment in various public institutions and organizations, as well as in the private sector, in positions such as inspector, specialist, and auditor, where economics graduates are typically employed, and as academic staff at universities.
