The 2026–2027 Academic Year Opening and Orientation Program was successfully held at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law. Attended by faculty members and newly enrolled students, the event commenced with a moment of silence followed by the Turkish National Anthem.
Following the opening ceremonies, a video presentation themed around "Combating Addiction" was screened. The welcoming address was delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş Durmuş.
Following the dean’s address, top-ranking students admitted to AYBU Faculty of Law based on the 2026 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS) results were presented with awards. Gifts were conferred by Dean Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş Durmuş to the top three entrants: Berra Şahbalı (first place), Mustafa Berat Yaman (second place), and Ahmet Sami Polat (third place).
The program proceeded with an informative address by Dr. Fatma Nur Cebeci Çorum, Lecturer from the Department of Information Technology Law, who shared valuable insights and guidance to support students throughout their academic journeys. To facilitate new students’ transition into university life, informative briefings were also delivered by representatives of the Registrar's Office, the Department of Health, Culture, and Sports, and the International Relations Coordination Office.
In the second session of the program, Dean Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş Durmuş delivered a keynote presentation entitled "Illegal Betting and Gambling." This was followed by an extensive presentation on "Addiction and Awareness" by Res. Asst. Dr. Elmas Akın Altıncı as part of ongoing efforts to combat addiction.
