and Ibn Haldun University Dispute Resolution Application and Research Centre (UÇAM)
successfully held the webinar titled ‘Arbitrability within the Framework of Current
Judicial Decisions and the Establishment and Validity of the Arbitration Agreement’,
which is our first joint event in line with the cooperation.
In the opening speeches made by Prof. Dr. Yeliz BOZKURT GÜMRÜKÇÜOĞLU, Director
of UÇAM, Prof. Dr. Neslihan KARATAŞ DURMUŞ, Dean of our Faculty, and Prof. Dr.
ŞÜKRÜ YILDIZ, Dean of Ibn Haldun University Faculty of Law, it was expressed that they
were pleased with the cooperation of both centres and the first event held in this direction on
behalf of joint studies and that this cooperation will continue with other national and
international events.
In the webinar moderated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. A. Eda MANAV ÖZDEMİR, Head of the
Department of General Directorate of Law and Legislation of the Presidency of
Administrative Affairs of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Prof. Dr. Ersin
ERDOĞAN, Head of the Department of Civil Procedure and Enforcement and Bankruptcy
Law of our Faculty, discussed in detail the ‘Effect of Arbitration Agreement on
Enforcement Proceedings’ within the framework of current judicial decisions in different
directions. Ass. Prof. Dr. Cansu KORKMAZ, one of the faculty members of the Department
of Civil Procedure and Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law of our Faculty and the Director of
AYBU International Arbitration Application and Research Centre evaluated the subject
of "Arbitrability in Line with Current Developments ’ within the framework of current
judicial decisions, taking into account the latest developments regarding mediation. Ass. Prof.
Dr. Ömer Faruk KAFALI, the Deputy Director of UÇAM, discussed the topic of ‘Current
Approaches in International Arbitration Regarding the Establishment and Validity of
the Arbitration Agreement’from a different perspective within the scope of practices and
decisions in certain countries. Finally, Prof. Dr. Ali YEŞİLIRMAK, the Head of the
Department of Civil Procedure and Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law, Faculty of Law, Ibn
Haldun University, made a ‘General Evaluation on Arbitrability and the Establishment
and Validity of Arbitration Agreements’ within the scope of the papers presented and
presented suggestions for solving the problems in this field by comparing the current practice
with the practice in different countries.
