A workshop titled “Exploring Uzbek Law: History, Developments, and Legal Framework”
was organized focusing on the Uzbek legal system at our “15 Temmuz Şehitleri
Yerleşkesi”.The session was chaired by Dr. Samet Tatar, Head of the Information Technology
Law Department at AYBU Faculty of Law. The workshop welcomed esteemed scholars from
Tashkent State University of Law, including Assoc. Prof. Shaxnoza Tolkunovna
Ziyamuxamedova, Assoc. Prof. Nasiba Jurabekovna Niyazova, and Assoc. Prof. Nasiba
Po’lotjonovna Bozorova.
In his opening speech, our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ali Cengiz Köseoğlu, discussed the progress
made in academic cooperation with many universities in Uzbekistan, including Tashkent State
University of Law, and shared hopes and plans for the continuation of this collaboration. He
also highlighted the positive contributions this partnership has made to the constitutional
amendments and legal reforms in Uzbekistan.
Our esteemed guest faculty members spoke in turn about the educational methods and
opportunities at Tashkent State University of Law, the historical development of Uzbekistan's
legal system, and the impact of recent legal reforms on the country’s legal framework. They
particularly emphasized the points where constitutional changes intersect with legal education
and faculty members. They also expressed their desire to host our students and faculty in
Uzbekistan as part of the collaboration between the two universities.
The closing remarks of the workshop were delivered by our Dean, Prof. Dr. Neslihan Karataş
Durmuş. She emphasized that the developments within this cooperation will yield highly
beneficial outcomes for our current students and highlighted the importance of students
gaining international dimensions in their legal knowledge. She further noted that mastering
multiple foreign languages is essential for achieving this goal.
