A presentation, titled as “The Concept of Online Dispute Resolution – ODR Methods as a New Field and Analysis of Examples” was made by Hüseyin Zorlu, Research Assistant at the Department of Law of Civil Procedure.
Research Assistant Hüseyin Zorlu explained the term “ODR” and its historical development and types. Having touched upon the methods that have been specially designed for disputes resulting from electronic trade which has showed up with the removal of the ban on the trade on the internet, he explained online arbitration, mediation, negotiation, online trial by jury and some unique types and differences between the ODR and similar concepts. The speaker, exemplifying the use of artificial intelligence in the comparative law, pointed out the existence of successful and fully operational applications.
