239th Wednesday Seminar: A presentation titled as “Plagiarism for Academics and Administrative Sanctions” was made

Research Assistant Elif Banu Ünal initially explained various concepts, such as ethics of science, scientific researches, and ethics of publishing and academic ethics, and addressed the term “plagiarism” and manners that are accepted as plagiarism. Having touched upon to the conditions for a legal use of a source, she explained substantive and formal conditions and legal rules regarding plagiarism. Then, she mentioned about the administrative sanctions and disciplinary process for academic plagiarism, and evaluated the issue, particularly in the light of the Supreme Court decisions on the period of the limitation.
