Within the scope of the 236th Wednesday Seminar of Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law, a presentation on “Basic Patents in the Standard” was made by Büşra Özkaya, Research Assistant of the Department of Informatics Law.
In her presentation, Research Assistant Büşra Özkaya explained the standard-based patent (SEP) concept and mentioned FRAND terms. Touching on the relationship and importance of patents based on the standard with informatics, the speaker talked about standardization organizations in this context and mainly discussed the example of ETSI. Within the scope of the presentation, the decisions of the European Commission and the CJEU were emphasized, and sample decisions on the subject were mentioned.
