Prof. Dr. Hayri Bozgeyik spoke on “The Usage of Work in the Contents of News” at the Symposium on the Protection of Copyrights in Media in the Process of Digitalization, which was organized by Anatolian Agency.
Four sessions, covering various presentations regarding the protection of rights in media within the context of the law of intellectual property rights, was held at the Head Office of Anatolian Agency.
Opening speeches were made by Serdar Karagöz, the Chairman of the Executive Board and General Director of AA, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Yayman, President of the Digital Domains Commission at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Ali Taha Koç, Head of the Section of Digital Transformation of the Presidency, and Ziya Taşkent, General Director of the Section of Copyrights of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.
The session, titled as “Copyrights Issues Resulting from Digitalization”, was chaired by Dr. Adem Aslan, member of Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Ateş, Dean of Faculty of Law at Istanbul Sabahattin Zaim University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cahit Suluk, academic member of the Faculty of Law at Istanbul Medeniyet University, made presentations on the topic.
The 3rd session of the symposium, titled as “Freedom of Quotation in Media” was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hamdi Pınar, academic member of Faculty of Law at Bilkent University. Fethi Merdivan, Attorney and the previous judge of the Ankara 2nd Civil Courts for Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights, and Prof. Dr. Hayri Bozgeyik, Dean of Faculty of Law at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, made presentations on the topic.
The 4th session of the symposium, titled as “Fighting against Digital Piracy”, was chaired by Döndü Deniz Bilir, member of Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. Assoc.Prof. Dr. Pelin Karaaslan, academic member of Faculty of Law at Eskisehir Osmangazi University, and Teknail Özderyol, Attorney, made presentations at this session.
