The 205 th Wednesday Seminar of AYBU Law School was held with a presentation on
“The Obligatory Dematerialisation of Bearer Shares in Joint-stock Companies: An
Evaluation under the Turkish Commercial Code” by Research Assistant Sümeyye
Erkalan Coşkunsu from Commercial Law Department. She discussed her topic within
the context of Law on the Prevention of the Financing of the Proliferation of Weapons
of Mass Destruction (Law No. 7262).

Res. Assist Sümeyye Erkalan Coşkunsu first gave general information about Central
Registry Agency along with the open and closed joint-stock company concepts. Then,
she touched upon the Law numbered 7262 and the changes related to shareholders
and share certificates under the Turkish Commercial Law.

In the following, she further discussed the principle of anonymity and free share
transfer and made her own evaluation of the topic.

After her informative presentation, the Q&A session took place and finally the
program concluded with the presentation of gifts and gratitude to our Dean for his
successful tenure by our Prof. Dr. Yusuf Ziya Taşkan and Prof. Dr. Yücel Acer on
behalf of AYBU Law School.
