MIGRATION WORKSHOP 2019
The "Migration Workshop," closely followed by both national and international news agencies, has been completed.
In the opening of the Migration Workshop 2019, held at the Mamak Culture Center, our Center's Director Dr. Ali Zafer Sağıroğlu highlighted that migration movements have increased not only in Turkey but also worldwide in recent years. He reminded the audience that there are 70 million people worldwide with forced migrant status.
"Before 2011, Syria was the country with the largest refugee stock in the world after Pakistan. Unfortunately, it has now become the largest refugee source country in the world," said Sağıroğlu, emphasizing that Turkey has always opened its arms to migrants and those in need.
Mamak Mayor Mr. Murat Köse touched upon the efforts related to migrants in Mamak district and security issues.
