In order to "Welcome" our new students to our Department, to provide them with the necessary technical information about our Department and Faculty, and to support them in their adaptation process to our University, we organized an orientation event in our Farabi Room on September 18, 2024.
Our event, hosted by Res. Asst. Dilek Kadıoğlu, started with the speech of Assistant Professor Mehmet Tuğrul, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and continued with the speech of our Department Chair Prof. Dr. Halil Rahman Açar.
Our Department's Research Assistants, Dilek Kadıoğlu, Dr. Gönül Emirbilek, Dr. Aybüke Aşkar and Dr. Enes Dağ provided our students with practical information on many subjects such as the functioning of the Department and Faculty, course selection, graduation criteria, how to contact the Academic Staff, the opportunities provided by our University to our students, and the social media accounts of our Faculty, and made presentations on the Double Major Program, the Minor Program, Transfer Regulations, the Erasmus Program and the Farabi Program.
The orientation event continued with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehtap Doğan, one of our Department members, informing the students about the Accreditation Process, the opportunities provided by this process to the students and the benefits it will provide them in the future. Then, Assistant Professor Dr. Aynur İlhan Tunç gave a welcoming speech to the students, and the closing speech of this part of the event was made by Assistant Professor Dr. Itır Güneş, one of the advisors of the first-year students.
After taking photos with our new students with the support of our second-year student Mert Yeğin, a cocktail was organized for our students in the area in front of our Farabi Room and various refreshments were served.
We would like to thank our students for participating in the program and for their interest, we hope that the pleasant conversations at our cocktail party will continue, and wholeheartedly welcome them.
