Prof. Dr. Cem Korkut, Head of our Department, met with students at the FinansGenç Ankara program of the ÖNDER Imam Hatip Alumni Association. In his talk “Islamic Economics and Finance: Foundations and Historical Development,” he discussed the core principles of Islamic economics and how the field took shape over time.
The talk traced a path from al-Ghazali’s view of money as a mirror and al-Maqrizi’s link between bad money and rising prices to the earliest Islamic gold coins.
We thank him for his valuable contribution.
