2024 INTERNSHIP CALENDAR

Dear Students, 

Students can do their compulsory internships during the summer period after completing their second or third year. You can obtain the compulsory internship document from the department internship coordinators.

You can start your internship on the first workday following the final exam dates specified in the academic calendar. The internship should last 20 workdays.  You can start your internship on 24 June 2024 at the earliest. The last day of the internship is Saturday, September 7, 2024.

Steps to be Followed by Students and Important Dates

Required Documents 

 

Internship Application Period March 18 – May 31, 2024

Students submit internship applications to companies and those students whose internship applications are approved by the companies deliver their documents to the department internship coordinators. Documents submitted after 7 June will not be accepted.

If the companies demand, students can get the "Compulsory Internship Letter" from the department internship coordinators, indicating that the internship is compulsory in our faculty and that their insurance will be covered by our university. Click to access this document.

Students whose internship applications were approved by the companies, should fill out the form in this link and submit the following documents to their department internship coordinators:

 - Internship Acceptance Letter – Click to download  Turkish   English

 - Letter of Declaration and Undertaking –  Click to download.

 - Information Form on unemployment fund contribution to internship wages – Click to download.

- Social Security Provision obtained from E-Government

  • The internships done by students who had not submitted these documents by the deadline (June 7, 2023) will not be accepted. These students will be considered as they had not applied for internship.

Internship Period July 24, 2024 – September 7, 2024

Students will complete their internships of 20 uninterrupted workdays within these dates. (August 19, 2024 is the last day to start internship). During their internship period, students should fill in the Internship Book and the Internship Registration Sheet, which prove that they have completed their internships.

The Internship Registration Sheet should be filled in by the company and handed to the student in a sealed and signed envelope. In case the students make any changes on the Internship Registration Sheet, their internships will be deemed invalid.

Students should ask for their Statement of Employment through sending an e-mail to isletme@ybu.edu.tr, the week before they start their internship.

 In case the students complete their internship abroad or the company requests so, the Internship Book and the Internship Registration Sheet can be prepared in English.

Internship Evaluation Period

The Internship Book should be completed in English, whereas the Internship Registration Sheet can be completed in English or TurkishThe Internship Book and the Internship Registration Sheet will be submitted to the Department Internship Committees within the first two weeks of 2024-2025 Fall Semester.

The Internship Registration Sheet should be submitted in a closed, sealed and signed envelope. The Internship Book should be prepared in English in accordance with the sample/format shared on the website and submitted in a file. In the internship book (report, students should explain in detail the tasks they completed and the knowledge they gained that day, on a separate page for each working day.

Only the students who completed their summer internships or those who are in their final year and would like to complete a Senior Project can register to the Internship course on the OBS system.

  • Internship Guideline

Students are expected to act according to the internship guidelines during their internship. Click for the Internship Guidelines.

  • Internship Abroad

The internships can be completed abroad if it is in an organization relevant with the department curriculum and the Internship Committee approves it.

The University does not compensate for the expenses (social security, salary, transportation, etc.) for an internship abroad.

The students who have completed their internships abroad should submit all the required documents (Internship Registration Sheet, Internship Book) to the Internship Committee. Erasmus Internships are also within this scope.

  • Students who will graduate

If the students have not completed their internships during the summer but they need to do internship in order to graduate and they have completed all their courses, they can complete a Senior Project.  Please contact with your department internship coordinators for the details.
