The Department of Nutrition and Dietetics was put into service in 1962 to conduct education and research in the field of "Nutrition and Dietetics". The department, which has been included in different faculties and colleges over the years, was affiliated to Hacettepe University Faculty of Health Sciences in 2007.
Our department has taken its first undergraduate students as of 2017-2018 Fall Semester. The education period of the Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Program is 4 years. Education is given on a full-time basis and the language of instruction is Turkish. Courses are carried out both theoretically and practically. In the section; There are 4 departments: Nutrition Sciences, Dietetics, Community Nutrition and Collective Nutrition Systems. Students who successfully complete the Nutrition and Dietetics Undergraduate Program graduate with the title of "Dietician".
Working possibilities
The profession of dietitian has also improved and the working areas of dieticians have increased in parallel with the numerous studies demonstrating how important nutrition is in the development and prevention of diseases in the last century. The working areas of dieticians are very wide and they can work as an academician in universities, research institutions, schools, banks, institutions such as hotels and restaurants, food factories, nursing homes, maternal and child health centers, health clubs and fitness centers, food industry and hospitals.
Laboratories:
In the department, the installation phase has been completed and the tools and materials required for practical course applications, graduate courses and thesis studies are ready to be used in fully equipped laboratories. There are 4 laboratories available to our department.
