The research project titled “Feature Characterization of Student-Written and ChatGPT-Generated Python Code: An Empirical Investigation,” led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Rasha OSMAN, with MSc student Banah Sabra KAAK serving as a researcher, has been accepted under the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Program. The project aims to identify distinguishing features between student-written introductory Python code and ChatGPT-generated solutions and to develop a related dataset. Its findings will support future explainable AI-based code detection methods for academic programming environments. We congratulate our faculty member and MSc student on this achievement and wish them continued success in their research.
The research project titled “Feature Characterization of Student-Written and ChatGPT-Generated Python Code: An Empirical Investigation,” led by Assist. Prof. Dr. Rasha OSMAN, a faculty member of our department, with our MSc student Banah Sabra KAAK serving as a researcher, has been accepted under the Scientific Research Projects (BAP) Program.

This project aims to empirically characterize the code features that distinguish student-written introductory Python code from ChatGPT-generated solutions and contribute a student/ChatGPT Python code dataset. The results of this project will provide an evidence-based foundation for future explainable AI-generated code detection methods designed for academic programming environments.

We congratulate our faculty member and our MSc student on this important accomplishment and wish them continued success in their future research.
