The AYBU Software Engineering Club was established by our department’s students and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yenal Arslan, Vice Chair of the Software Engineering Department. The club’s founding meeting took place on November 26, 2024, in the Etlik West Campus, Block A Conference Hall.
The meeting began with the Turkish National Anthem and a Moment of Silence. Following that, Can Kankılıç, a third-year student and club president, gave an overview of the club’s founding purpose, vision, and goals. The club aims to contribute to the academic and social development of Software Engineering students and has begun its structuring process by forming various committees, including Projects, Technical Visits, Internships and Career Services, Events, and Social Media.
With great interest from students, teams were formed in these areas and committee heads were elected. Thanks to the support and contributions of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yenal Arslan during the founding process, the responsibilities of each committee were clearly defined.
The Software Engineering Club aims to support students’ professional, academic, and social growth. Through planned events, seminars, and projects, the club seeks to enhance collaboration within the faculty and build strong industry connections.
This meaningful beginning once again highlighted the importance that Software Engineering students place on solidarity and collaboration.
