Our Faculty Member’s BAP Project Has Been Approved.


Supported by the Scientific Research Projects Coordination Unit (BAP) at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University (Project No.: 3082, Approval Date: June 10, 2026) The study titled “Alphabet Policies in the Turkic Republics” is a 12-month project led by Prof. Dr. Salim PİLAV; it will be carried out by a team including researchers Prof. Dr. Seyit Ali AVCU and Ph.D. candidate Parassat RAKYMBERLİ.

The primary objective of this study is to examine the alphabet policies of the Turkic republics that gained independence following the dissolution of the Soviet Union through a comparative analysis, thereby revealing the relationship between these policies and national identity, culture, education, and political processes; furthermore, it aims to assess the feasibility of a common Turkic alphabet within the framework of the Turkic World 2040 Vision.

The project’s outputs will serve as a fundamental resource for researchers working in the fields of comparative education, linguistics, political science, and Turkology.
