On November 28, 2025, the first Career Talks program organized by our Department of Turkish Language and Literature, with the support of the Art and Literature Club, was successfully held with the enthusiastic participation of our students. Our Department Chair, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Erdoğan, delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the importance of the Career Talks series for students and their career goals, and wishing the speakers success. In this program, which served as the kickoff event for the series and was moderated by Elif İrem Ünlü, President of the Art and Literature Club, three distinguished speakers shared their career journeys in their respective fields, their experiences, and their guiding advice for students.
The first speaker, author Serkan Akça, shared his literary journey, his introduction to poetry, and ways to strengthen writing practice. He delivered an inspiring speech to students, talking about the contributions of engaging in art to personal development. Dr. Fatma Bilge Şimşek shared her work in the field of Teaching Turkish to Foreigners and provided important information about the process of becoming a lecturer. She contributed to students' career planning with academic advancement paths, field experiences, and professional tips.
Research Assistant Zabit Aytek discussed the challenges he faced on his path to becoming a research assistant, as well as the discipline and motivation required for academic life. He emphasized the importance of faith, determination, and patience in the face of short-term difficulties in order to achieve long-term success.
Following the talks, students had the opportunity to interact with the speakers by asking questions about topics they were curious about during the question-and-answer session.
At the end of the event, our Department Chair Prof. Dr. Mustafa Erdoğan, Dr. Latife Özcan, and Dr. Nurdan Benli thanked the speakers and presented them with gifts.
