As the 2024-2025 academic year draws to a close, a "Minstrels' Gathering" event was held at AYBU. The event, jointly organized by the Department of Turkish Language and Literature and the Kaşgarlı Mahmut Thought Community, took place on May 6, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the C Block Conference Hall of the Esenboğa Campus.
At the beginning of the event, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Erdoğan, Head of the Department of Turkish Language and Literature, and Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Tutar, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, each gave speeches emphasizing the importance of the minstrel tradition in Turkish culture, language, and literature and the need to preserve it. Following the reading of the biographies of the two participating minstrels, Âşık Kul Nuri and Âşık Zeki Erdali took the stage. The minstrels began by singing a greeting folk song and then presented examples from various genres of minstrel literature, including folk songs with stories, quarrels, and Köroğlu. The program concluded with the presentation of certificates of appreciation and flowers to the lovers, and a photo together. The program, enjoyed by faculty members and students from various faculties, lasted approximately two hours.
