ERASMUS BIP | BLENDED TERRITORIES LAB Online Meeting

As a preparatory event for the ERASMUS BIP | BLENDED TERRITORIES LAB, an international workshop to be held in Ankara from 2–10 September 2026, an online seminar was held on 27 August 2026 with the participation of all international participants. The seminar was delivered by Kadri Atabaş, architect and writer with extensive experience in Ankara’s urban development, planning practices, housing policies, and processes of urbanisation. His insights provided participants with a broader background for understanding Ankara not only as a physical city, but also through its historical and social transformations. In particular, his reflections on the Batıkent experience and Ankara’s planned urban development offered a valuable foundation for the field research, urban analyses, and design studies to be undertaken during the workshop. As the Department of Architecture at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, we thank Kadri Atabaş for this valuable contribution to the preparatory process of our international workshop.
