Tokat
As part of the Studio IV–VII (3) course, an academic field trip to Tokat was organized on 2–3 October 2026 under the coordination of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Filiz Karakuş, Dr. Ümit Gökhan Çiçek, and Res. Asst. Bilgesu Ünalan.

During the field trip, students conducted on-site spatial, architectural, and contextual analyses of the project area adjacent to Gök Madrasah, developing a deeper understanding of the relationship between cultural heritage, urban context, and contemporary design.

The program also included visits to Zile and Pazar, as well as a number of significant historic buildings in Tokat and Amasya. In Tokat, students visited Taşhan, Deveciler Khan, Ulu Mosque, Takyeciler Mosque, and Ali Paşa Mosque; while in Amasya, the itinerary included Taşhan and the Sultan Bayezid II Complex.

Through direct observation, documentation, and discussion, the field trip provided students with the opportunity to explore the historical layers, architectural character, urban morphology, and cultural heritage values of the region, contributing directly to the development of their studio projects.

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Sebahattin Erdoğan, Regional Director of Foundations in Tokat, and his team for their valuable support and contributions throughout the field trip.
