As part of the extracurricular activities organized by the Department of Architecture at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, a meeting titled “The First Five Years of an Early Career Architect” was held at the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey.
The meeting was delivered by Görkem Aytekin, Vice Chairperson of the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey. Drawing on his professional experience, he shared insights into the transition from architectural education to professional life, discussing workplace dynamics, career development, challenges, and opportunities commonly encountered during the early years of practice.
The event provided students with the opportunity to gain practical perspectives on the architectural profession and engage in discussions regarding career planning and professional development.
The event was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeyda Emekci with Dr. Çiğdem Aytekin and Research Assistants Buse Akçay Pehlivanoğlu and Sena Türe. We would like to thank Görkem Aytekin and the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey for their valuable contributions and hospitality.
