The meeting was delivered by İsmail Coşkun, Chairperson of the Ankara Branch of the Chamber of Architects of Turkey. The event was attended by architecture students interested in gaining a deeper understanding of the relationship between architectural education, professional organizations, and professional life.
During the meeting, participants were introduced to the historical development, mission, and responsibilities of the Chamber of Architects, as well as its role in protecting professional rights, promoting ethical standards, and representing architects within society. Discussions also focused on the importance of professional organizations in supporting architects throughout their careers and contributing to the development of the built environment.
Students had the opportunity to learn about membership processes, professional rights and responsibilities, continuing professional development opportunities, and the role of the Chamber in addressing contemporary challenges faced by architects. The session also provided a platform for participants to ask questions regarding career development, professional ethics, and engagement with professional organizations.
The event was coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Şeyda Emekci with Dr. Çiğdem Aytekin and Research Assistants Buse Akçay Pehlivanoğlu and Sena Türe. Through this meeting, students gained valuable insights into the significance of professional organizations in architectural practice and developed a broader understanding of their future roles and responsibilities as architects.
