Within the framework of the Design and Innovation master’s course offered at our university, the master students, under the supervision of Assoc. Prof. Şeyda Emekçi, achieved great success by becoming finalists in the 15th National Furniture Design Competition with furniture designs they created. This prestigious competition brings together leading designers and design students in Turkey, and the jury members were highly impressed by our students’ innovative and functional furniture designs.
The competition is recognized as an important platform for developing new designs and solutions in the furniture industry. Making it to the finals in this competition, where designers showcase projects that excel both aesthetically and functionally, is a significant achievement for our university. Our students reflected the education they received in the Design and Innovation course and their innovative perspectives in their designs, garnering considerable attention during the competition.
The projects that our master’s students reached the finals with stand out for their responsiveness to the needs of modern life and their commitment to sustainability through environmentally friendly materials. These furniture designs, which not only emphasize aesthetics but also boast ergonomic features and functionality, aim to breathe new life into the furniture sector, suitable for both home and workplace use.
