1- Philosophy of Religion: It examines the topics like existence and attributes of God, theistic arguments, the relation between God and universe, religion-science, religion-morality-aesthetics. As a interdiciplinary study field, it aims to gain students to assess their knowledge on different fields of Islamic theology and the relations between them, from the philosophical point of view.

2- Sociology of Religion: It deals with the relationship between religion and society, effectively understands and interprets the religious structure of the society. In broader terms, the main focuses of Sociology of Religion are as follows: relations between religious beliefs, practices, behaviors and social factors, institutions; effect of scientific, technological, cultural, economic changes on religious beliefs, practices, customs, traditions and behavior; relations between industrialization, urbanization, education, mass communication and religious attitudes, behaviors, changes; the organization, power and functions of institutionalized religious authority and the structure; relations with religion culture and civilization and their mutual influences and problems.

3- Psychology of Religion: It examines religion in terms of individuals. It examines the effects of religion on humans through experimental methods and collects objective data. In addition, Psychology of Religion tries to understand and explain -with its own methods and techniques- facts that live in the spirit of person in religious terms, the religious life and behaviors of the person that are reflected in various manifestations, relations of religious life with other spiritual events.

4- History of Religions:  This field examines the origins of religions, assessment of religions about each other by considering the developments and changes of the religions in the historical process, and the similarities and dissimilarities of religions. The subject of History of Religions is all religions that have been seen on the history. History of Religions deals with the principles, origins, developments of religions and compares phenomenons in religions. History of Religion uses descriptive methods as well as methods of history, sociology and philology. This discipline approaches religions as they are. Researchers of History of Religions have to be objective whatever their religions might be.

5- Religious Education: This dicipline examines the theoretical and practical reflexions of religion on education. Religious Education has an active role in planning “Teacher Training Courses”. It also serves effectively in producing materials such as text books, programme development, teacher training in religious education and training.
