243rd Wednesday Seminar: A presentation titled “The Case of “Jamal Khashoggi” in terms of Consular Law” was made.

Within the scope of the 243rd Wednesday Seminar, a presentation on “The Case of “Jamal Khashoggi” in terms of Consular Law” was made by Sultan Şuanur Şimşek, Research Assistant at the Department of International Law. Firstly, Research Assistant Sultan Şuanur Şimşek examined consular immunity, vehicle immunity, personal immunity and immunity of jurisdiction. Having pointed out examples regarding the reflections of the “The Case of “Jamal Khashoggi” on the international media, the speaker evaluated the impacts of both consular immunity and immunities on the case, and highlighted the significant shortcomings of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.
